Branch Scout Council (BSC) Elections 2024

Last updated: 28 February 2024

  • Do you have ideas for fun new Scout events?
  • Do you want to develop your leadership, teamwork and communication skills?
  • Do you want to make new friends from other Units?
  • Do you want to represent Scouts and make sure their voices are heard?

If you answered yes, join the Branch Scout Council Executive in 2024!

What is the BSC?

The BSC Executive is a team of Scouts (aged 11-14) who work to support Scout Units in the ACT to deliver a youth program for Scouts that is adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive.

The BSC Executive organises two meetings each term for Scout Units to share great ideas, plan awesome Scout events, and discuss topics that impact Scouts. These meetings are a great opportunity for Scouts to have their voices heard and help to improve Scouting in Canberra - plus, there is free pizza at every meeting!

What positions are available?

Applications are now open for the following BSC Executive positions:

  • BSC Chair - organises meetings, represents Scouts at events, and leads the BSC
  • BSC Vice Chair - assists with meetings and supports the BSC Chair
  • BSC Secretary - takes notes during meetings
  • Up to three BSC Executives - organise Scout events and run the BSC social media accounts

These roles will be elected for the next 12 months. The BSC Executive must remain active members of their Unit during their term of office.

Check out the BSC Terms of Reference for more information about the BSC.

When are the elections?

Elections will take place at the BSC meeting on Wednesday 27 March. We will confirm the location of the BSC meeting closer to the date and advertise it on the BSC page of Scouts ACT website.

Scouts who can't attend the March BSC but would like to nominate should contact Jay Reid, Branch Commission Youth Empowerment.
