Conditions of Hire

As part of booking The Shakespeare Centre for Scouting all groups are to do the following:

  • Observe that the area you have booked is clean and in good repair when you arrive.
  • Please report any problems or damage that you encounter.
  • Ensure you leave all areas in the same condition when you depart.
  • During your stay please sweep out and keep tidy - sleeping quarters, halls and bathrooms.
  • When you leave each bed should have a pillow and neatly folded quilt placed at one end.
  • Cabin floors are to be swept and mopped, shower cubicles cleaned, toilets and basins wiped, and kitchens cleaned (if applicable). Meeting rooms are to be swept or vacuumed and chairs & tables returned to the original position. To protect our environmentally friendly worm sewerage farm, please only use the cleaning products provided.
  • Quilts, mattresses and pillows must not be removed from rooms under any circumstances.
  • Each person must provide and use a pillowcase, a bottom sheet, and either a top sheet or sleeping bag, their own towel, toiletries & sunscreen.

 

Catered Groups

Meals will be served at the following times:

Breakfast

8.00 am

Morning Tea

10.30 am

Lunch

12.30 pm

Afternoon Tea

3.30 pm

Dinner

6.00 pm

Supper

7:30 pm

It is necessary that a duty roster be arranged by your organisers for the following:

  • Setting of tables prior to meals
  • Clearing and wiping of tables and sweeping the floor after meals. This normally takes around 15 minutes depending on group size.
  • Meals will be served from the servery counter. Used crockery and cutlery to be stacked at the dishwasher counter.
  • Tea and Coffee will be self serve from the kitchenette area.
  • If arrangements have been made with The Shakespeare Centre for Scouting by a group, or members of a group, for the supply of foodstuffs for any reason neither The Shakespeare Centre for Scouting nor its representatives will be held responsible for the condition of such foodstuffs.

 

Self Catered Groups

Small Groups - using a Kitchen Cabin to cater for up to a maximum of 18 people.

Crockery, cutlery, saucepans and cooking utensils are provided in the Cabin for your use.

The Cabin has a small bar fridge, so if you intend to bring a large quantity of perishable food with you, we advise that you also bring a water-tight esky.

The Kitchen Cabin also has a stove with hotplates, a griller and an oven, as well as a sink for washing up. All cleaning products will be provided.

Barbeques are available to all users of the Centre and are located on the verandah of the main hall.

 

Large Groups - using the main hall and kitchen.

Crockery, cutlery, saucepans and cooking utensils are provided in the main kitchen for your use. The Kitchen has a cool room for the storage of perishable food and a store room for dry goods.

Other kitchen facilities include a servery opening into the hall, a refrigerator, a chest freezer, a large cook top and oven, a warming oven, 2 microwaves, toasters, a pass through dishwasher, and a glass dishwasher. All cleaning products will be provided.

Barbeques are available to all users of the Centre and are located on the verandah of the main hall.

The hall accommodates up to 120 people comfortably, and tables and chairs can be arranged by your group to suit your particular needs.

 

Important: Leader to provide a copy of camp program to the Centre Manager prior to arrival.

 

Payment of your account is required at the time a final invoice is delivered. Any variation to the invoice (eg. breakages, cleaning) must be finalised prior to departure unless alternative arrangements have been made. Payment must be either one cheque, all cash or cash and one cheque.

Diet requirements (not included in our normal menu) exceeding 10% of total persons will attract a 10% increase in tariff cost for all persons attending the camp.

The Shakespeare Centre for Scouting staff are willing to advise and help you make your stay pleasant and enjoyable.

All groups should carry their own insurance cover for activities organised by the group and undertaken during the stay at The Shakespeare Centre for Scouting. The cost of normal wear and tear will be borne by The Shakespeare Centre for Scouting. ALL breakages and or damage as a result of carelessness or willful damage must be paid for by your group.
